The Coalition of Asheville Neighborhoods collaborated with Bailey Stockwell of East Asheville for Safety and Truth in interviewing office candidates running in the May 17th primary. The interviews are on YouTube. For more details click here.
Also on the ballot is the Open Space Amendment. According to one expert, relative to Asheville’s existing open-space laws, the proposal would slash the minimum size of open space by up to 80% and cut the total amount of open space required by up to 50%.
The Coalition of Asheville Neighborhoods opposes the amendment in its current form.
All residents are encouraged to learn about the amendment to ensure informed decision-making at election time. The proposed regulation is available here.
The Haw Creek Community Association successfully raised $67,000 for the new parking area at Master’s Park. Thank you to everyone that contributed! Please see our thank-you note from the City of Asheville.
